Our approach to inclusive education in Years 5 and 6 is built on equity, respect and a belief in the potential of every student. In partnership with class teachers, we support students with diverse learning needs including disability, language backgrounds and individual learning profiles through personalised and collaborative strategies.
Our inclusive practices include
- Identifying, monitoring and reviewing individual student needs
- Adjusting learning based on both internal assessments and external professional reports
- Consulting with families, teachers and allied service providers
- Developing Personalised Learning Plans tailored to each student
- Differentiating programs and teaching approaches to support a continuum of needs.
Targeted support
- Our students can benefit from numerous support programs before and during the school day.
- Literacy support and intervention programs include MacqLit, CARS and STARS
- Numeracy support and intervention programs include CAMS and STAMS and Daily Retrieval Practice.
We take a strength-based, holistic approach to ensure every student has access to meaningful learning and a school experience that reflects our values of inclusion, compassion and excellence.Nicole Meehan, Diverse Learning Coordinator
